• It is true, This American Life is often funny -- but just as often, these stories have made me think, or cry, or feel complex emotions that I don't really want to try to explain right here. When Sarah Vowell talks about going out to the country with her dad so he can shoot his homemade cannon, or David Sedaris describes his French teacher, I am amused and MOVED. And my students usually end up listening to "Squirrel Cop" at least once during the school year.
